  • Product overview

Abcam’s Epiregulin Mouse ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Mouse Epiregulin in plasma and cell culture supernatants.

This assay employs an antibody specific for Mouse Epiregulin coated on a 96- well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and Epiregulin present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Mouse Epiregulin antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Epiregulin bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

We have not been able to detect endogenous Mouse Epiregulin in normal serum with ab100682, only in serum spiked with Mouse Epiregulin.

Answer

Thank you for contacting us.

The Epiregulin kit ab100682 is not suitable for Human samples since one of the antibody has shown no cross-reactivity with Human epiregulin, and unfortunately we do not have an ELISA kit for Human Epiregulin in our catalogue.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.

Question
Answer

Thank you very much for your call this week and for your patience while I have been in touch with the lab regarding your enquiry.

The capture antibodyin this kit does cross-react with the human epiregulin, however the detection antibodyis not cross-reactive with the human protein. So, this kit will not be suitable for use with human samples, unfortunately. There is no cross reactivity with mouse or rat EGF or amphiregulin either.

I hope that this information will be useful. I'm sorry that we do not have a human epiregulin kit at this time, but I would recommend searching on http://www.biocompare.com to see if another vendor carries one.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything else that we can do for you.
