Target

  • Function

Serum albumin, the main protein of plasma, has a good binding capacity for water, Ca(2+), Na(+), K(+), fatty acids, hormones, bilirubin and drugs. Its main function is the regulation of the colloidal osmotic pressure of blood. Major zinc transporter in plasma, typically binds about 80% of all plasma zinc.
  • Tissue specificity

    Plasma.
  • Sequence similarities

    Belongs to the ALB/AFP/VDB family.
    Contains 3 albumin domains.
  • Post-translational
    modifications

Phosphorylation sites are present in the extracelllular medium.
  • Cellular localization

    Secreted.

    Question

    To Whom it may concern,

I hope you are well, I am just enquiring as to the concentration of the anti-mouse serum albumin antibody (ab19196), as it does not the state the concentration on your website. I understand it is a 2 mL aliquot, thus what it the concentration/mL of the antibody?

    Kind Regards,

    Answer

    Thank you for your enquiry.

I can confirm that ab19196 antibody is sold as whole antiserum. Unpurified antibodies, such as those sold as whole antiserum, ascites or tissue culture supernatant will not have a concentration stated on the datasheet. Antibody concentration is usually determined by protein assay, and serum / ascites / tissue culture supernatant will contain a lot of other proteins, which means the antibody quantification would not be accurate.

I can confirm that for whole antiserum, concentration of antibody is known to very between 1 - 10 mg/ml.

I am sorry we are not able to provide an exact concentration on this occasion, but hope this information will be helpful to you. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
