Product overview
The Mouse TNFRSF17 Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) kit (BCMA) (ab213893) is designed for the quantitative detection of Mouse TNFRSF17 in cell culture supernatants, cell lysates, tissue homogenates, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA).
The ELISA kit is based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technology. A monoclonal antibody from rat specific for TNFRSF17/BCMA has been precoated onto 96-well plates. Standards (Expression system for standard: NSO; Immunogen sequence: M1-T49) and test samples are added to the wells, a biotinylated detection polyclonal antibody from goat specific for TNFRSF17/BCMA is added subsequently and then followed by washing with PBS or TBS buffer. Avidin-Biotin-Peroxidase Complex was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with PBS or TBS buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Mouse TNFRSF17/BCMA amount of sample captured in plate.

Notes
TNFRSF17 (Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 17), also called BCMA, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the TNFRSF17 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily and is mapped to 16p13.13. This receptor is preferentially expressed in mature B lymphocytes, and may be important for B cell development and autoimmune response. This receptor has been shown to specifically bind to the tumor necrosis factor (ligand) superfamily, member 13b (TNFSF13B/TALL-1/BAFF), and to lead to NF-kappaB and MAPK8/JNK activation. This receptor also binds to various TRAF family members, and thus may transduce signals for cell survival and proliferation.

Function
Receptor for TNFSF13B/BLyS/BAFF and TNFSF13/APRIL. Promotes B-cell survival and plays a role in the regulation of humoral immunity. Activates NF-kappa-B and JNK. -
Tissue specificity
Expressed in mature B-cells, but not in T-cells or monocytes. -
Involvement in disease
Note=A chromosomal aberration involving TNFRSF17 is found in a form of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Translocation t(4;16)(q26;p13) with IL2. -
Sequence similarities
Contains 1 TNFR-Cys repeat. -
Cellular localization
Cell membrane. Endomembrane system. Perinuclear Golgi-like structures. - Information by UniProt
