  • General notes

Ab234104 is the carrier-free version of ab230948. This format is designed for use in antibody labeling, including fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, enzymes.

Our carrier-free formats are supplied in a buffer free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol for higher conjugation efficiency.

Use our conjugation kits  for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with <1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

ab234104 is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm.

Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMab® patents.

This product is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody.

Target

  • Function

Mediates export of organic anions and drugs from the cytoplasm. Mediates ATP-dependent transport of glutathione and glutathione conjugates, leukotriene C4, estradiol-17-beta-o-glucuronide, methotrexate, antiviral drugs and other xenobiotics. Confers resistance to anticancer drugs. Hydrolyzes ATP with low efficiency.
  • Tissue specificity

Lung, testis and peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
  • Sequence similarities

Belongs to the ABC transporter superfamily. ABCC family. Conjugate transporter (TC 3.A.1.208) subfamily.
Contains 2 ABC transmembrane type-1 domains.
    Contains 2 ABC transporter domains.
  • Cellular localization

    Cell membrane.

  • Flow cytometric analysis of 4% paraformaldehyde-fixed, 90% methanol permeabilized HeLa (human cervix adenocarcinoma epithelial cell) cell line labeling MRP1 with ab230948 at 1/50 (red) compared with a Rabbit monoclonal IgG (ab172730) (black) and an unlabeled control (cells incubated with secondary antibody only) (blue). Goat anti rabbit IgG (Alexa Fluor® 488, ab150077), at 1/2000 dilution was used as the secondary antibody.

This data was developed using the same antibody clone in a different buffer formulation containing PBS, BSA, glycerol, and sodium azide (ab230948).

  • Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human lung cancer (B) and its adjacent noncancerous tissue (A) labeling MRP1 with ab230948 at 1/250 dilution, followed by a ready to use Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (HRP). Strong membranous and cytoplasmic staining in human lung cancer tissue (B) with weak staining in its adjacent noncancerous tissue (A) (PMID:23667609) is observed. Counter stained with Hematoxylin.
Secondary antibody only control: Used PBS instead of primary antibody, secondary antibody is a ready to use Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (HRP).
