FunctionE3 ubiquitin ligase. Regulates proteasomal degradation of cardiac troponin I/TNNI3 and probably of other sarcomeric-associated proteins. May play a role in striated muscle atrophy and hypertrophy by regulating an anti-hypertrophic PKC-mediated signaling pathway. May regulate the organization of myofibrils through TTN in muscle cells.

ab4125 at 1.25 µg/ml staining human skeletal muscle by IHC-P. Tissue sections were subjected to steamed antigen retrieval with citrate buffer (pH6), AP-staining. Shows strong staining in rare nuclei, and weak staining of muscle fibres in longitudinal section.
ab4125 staining MURF1 in mouse lung tissue section by Immunohistochemistry (Frozen sections). Tissue underwent fixation in paraformaldehyde and blocked in 1%BSA for 10 minutes at 20°C. The primary antibody was diluted 1/200 and incubated with sample for 20 hours at 20°C. A Biotin conjugated rabbit polyclonal to goat IgG, diluted 1/500 was used as secondary.
