FunctionPlays a role in the regulation of lipogenesis by producing N-acetylaspartate acid (NAA), a brain-specific metabolite. NAA occurs in high concentration in brain and its hydrolysis plays a significant part in the maintenance of intact white matter. Promotes dopamine uptake by regulating TNF-alpha expression. Attenuates methamphetamine-induced inhibition of dopamine uptake.

ab76842 staining FLJ37478 in CHO cells transfected with mouse Nat8l cDNA by Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence. Cells were PFA-fixed and permeabilized in 0.3% Triton X-100 prior to blocking in 1% BSA for 30 minutes at 25°C. The primary antibody was diluted 1/150 in 1% BSA in PBS and incubated with the sample for 1 hour at 25°C. The secondary antibody was Cy2® conjugated goat anti-rabbit polyclonal, diluted 1/200.
All lanes : Anti-NAT8L antibody (ab76842) at 1/1000 dilution (in TBS + 0.05% Tween 20 for 1 hour at 22°C)
