      Question

I am looking for IgA1 and IgA2 proteins to use as reference material in an ELISA. I was wondering how your two products 91020 and 91021 have been purified.

      Answer

For IgA1, isolated from human myeloma plasma, (ab91020) and IgA2, isolated from human myeloma plasma (ab91021), we perform an initial Ammonium sulfate precipitation. After, specific affinity columns are used based on the contaminants present. For example, the last time this product was made, we used Affigel Blue (BioRAD) and Gamma-bind for the removal of Albumin and IgG respectively.

      Question

Dear Sir/Madam, we are looking for the purified human myeloma IgA1 (Ale) protein, in polymeric form if possible. We woluld like to use in ELISA as a standard or control sample. I found the product human IgA1 protein in your catalog. Is this form mainly polimeric and could it be used in ELISA testsn as well? Is there anything know about the glycosylation of your purified protein? Do you have any other suitable protein? Thank you for the answer. Best regards,

      Answer

Thank you very much for your interest in ab91020. We unfortunately have not done any test to check whether this protein is polymeric or not. We also do not know if the protein is glycosylated. The molecular weight of monomeric IgA is 160 kDa. Theoretically the image represents a band at ˜150-160 kDa in non reduced/ no heat part of the gel which could represent the monomeric form of theprotein; we are however unable to confirm due to lack of tested data. If you are interested in testing this antibody then I can offer a discount off a future purchase if you buy ab91020 now, test it inIndirect ELISAand submit feedback to us in the form of an Abreview. It doesn’t matter whether the Abreview is positive or negative, we would just really like to receive your feedback. The discount would be to the value of 1 free (PRIMARY ANTIBODY). If you are interested in this offer, please follow these steps: 1. Reply to this e-mail to let me know that you would like to proceed and test ab91020 in Indirect ELISA. I will then send a discount code. This code must be issued before purchasing ab91020 so please wait for my reply before ordering. 2. Purchase ab91020 either by phone, fax, or online (www.abcam.com). 3. Test it in Indirect ELISA. 4. Let us know the results, positive or negative, using our Abreview system (this will take about 10 minutes and images are great if you have them!). To find out how to submit an Abreview, please visit: https://www.abcam.com/abreviews. ordered and the discount code is valid for 4 months after issue. We are always pleased to obtain feedback about our products and any information is greatly appreciated!
