I looked into this and there was a typo on our datasheet.  The statement belongs on a datasheet for a different product, HPF4-R.  We sincerely apologize for the confusion. Please let me know if the appearence of this statement on the datasheet for ab95130 led you to mistakenly purchase this product.

Thank you for contacting us. I have received the following reply from the lab: The Integrin alpha 2b + beta 3 protein consists of both Integrin alpha 2b and Integrin beta 3 full length proteins. Integrin alpha 2b migrates on a gel at 136kDa (non-reduced) and 125kDa (reduced) and Integrin beta 3 migrates on a gel at 97kDa (non-reduced) and 108kDa (reduced), respectively. Integrin alpha 2b consists of 2 disulfide-linked subunits: heavy chain (125kDa) and light chain (23kDa) while Integrin beta 3 has only one polypeptide chain (108kDa). The starting platelets are activated prior to the purification of the glycoprotein complex. It is assumed, but not verified, that the Integrin alpha 2b + beta 3 protein complex will bind Fibrinogen and the RGD antagonist. I hope this information is helpful to you.
