Multiplex assays not only allow researchers to measure multiple biomarkers simultaneously but also offer the unique advantage of harvesting more actionable data to inform better decision making, accelerate research, and increase the probability of making a discovery.
FirePlex multiplex assays
FirePlex multiplex assays use Abcam’s proprietary FirePlex hydrogel particle technology for multiplexing biomolecules. The hydrogels leverage the flexibility of particle arrays while allowing the immobilization of probes within the hydrated, 3D binding environment. The optical liquid stamping of hydrogel particles enables bar-coding and multiplexing biomolecules such as miRNA and proteins. The FirePlex particles allow building assays with high multiplexibility, sensitivity, and high throughput capacity (in 384-well and 1536-well plate formats). The optimal thermodynamics of binding kinetics with FirePlex particles together with their flexibility renders the FirePlex Multiplex assay compatible for use with flow cytometers and high content imagers, eliminating the need for a dedicated instrument for assay readout.
FirePlex multiplex assays allow you to avoid the hardships encountered with traditional multiplex assays: long, tedious man-hours, large sample volume requirements, automation challenges, and lack of customization. To cover the range of popular and upcoming biomolecules for biomarkers, Abcam offers two options of the multiplex assay: the miRNA assay and the immunoassay.
Antibody arrays
Our Antibody Arrays, similar to ELISA, but with enhanced multiplexing capabilities, can analyze hundreds of different proteins simultaneously and with significantly lower cost, time, and effort.
Quantitative and semi-quantitative arrays offer 40 and 96 analyte multiplexing respectively, for comparative analysis of cytokines, chemokines, growth factors, and many other biological proteins and pathways in human, mouse, rat, and other species.
