WB Use a concentration of 1 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 31 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 32 kDa). Good results were obtained when blocked with 5% non-fat dry milk in 0.05% PBS-T.

    Probable homophilic and heterophilic cell adhesion molecule involved in long term potentiation at hippocampal excitatory synapses through activation of p38MAPK. May also regulate neurite outgrowth by activating the FGFR1 signaling pathway. May play a role in synaptic plasticity.

Thank you for contacting us about the issues you are having with the FGFR1 and NPTN antibodies. Can you please send me a few details of your samples and the protocols you use for harvesting the samples and for blotting? In particular, I am interested in what the samples are, how much is loaded per lane of the gel, the efficacy of transfer to the blots, the blocking solution, and the concentrations or dilutions of the antibodies. You mentioned in our conversation that the lanes containing NPTN-transfected samples showed at least three bands, one specific, two not. Can you please tell me the size of all the bands that were observed? If you have an image of a blot, please attach it to your reply, if it is convenient. For the FGFR1 antibody, you said no bands were apparent. Did you try optimizing the protocol, for instance by loading more sample or increasing the antibody concentration?
