Target

  • Relevance

Obestatin, is generated from the proteolytic cleavage of preproghrelin; its sequence corresponds to aamino acids 76-98 of Appetite-regulating hormone [Precursor](Q9QYH7). This peptide has contrasting actions to Ghrelin (a different product of proteolytic cleavage of preproghrelin) in that it inhibits food intake and gastrointestinal motility but does not modify in vitro GH release from pituitary cells.
