FunctionTranscription factor that binds to the octamer motif (5'-ATTTGCAT-3') and activates the promoters of the genes for some small nuclear RNAs (snRNA) and of genes such as those for histone H2B and immunoglobulins. Modulates transcription transactivation by NR3C1, AR and PGR (By similarity). In case of human herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection, POU2F1 forms a multiprotein-DNA complex with the viral transactivator protein VP16 and HCFC1 thereby enabling the transcription of the viral immediate early genes.

Immunoprecipitation of Oct-1 protein from HEK-293T (human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney transformed with large T antigen) whole cell lysate using 5 μg of ab272867. ab272867 also used for WB.
Paraffin-embedded rat brain tissue stained for Oct-1 protein using ab272867 at 1/500 dilution in immunohistochemical analysis. Antigen retrieval using citrate buffer, pH 6, 15 minutes.
Samples: HEK-293T (human epithelial cell line from embryonic kidney transformed with large T antigen) whole cell lysate:
A: Control with 2.5 μg of pre-immune rabbit IgG.
B: Immunoprecipitation of Oct-1 by 2.5 μg of ab272867.
The immunoprecipitated Oct-1 protein was detected by ab272867 at 1:1000 dilution, followed by anti-rabbit IgG (HRP).
