Question (57207) | Anti-Oligodendrocyte myelin glycoprotein antibody (ab96426)

Go to datasheet (ab96426)

I purchased this and it works well, but since it is no longer offered, I can't retrieve the product sheet. Essentially I need to make sure whether a band at ~65 kDa (in addition to 37) is normal).

Thank you for contacting us.

As requested I have attached the datasheeet to this email. I do not have alot of addition data regarding additional bands at the higher molecular weight, however this protein does undergo post translational modifications which may change its weight affect charge and migration through the gel.

I would recommend heating your samples for a longer period in a reducing buffer to remove these modifications.

We do offer anotherAnti-Oligodendrocyte myelin glycoprotein antibody which we guarantee in Western blot . This product, ab78595, was created against the synthetic peptide: C-KVTKIPKQYRTKE, corresponding to internal sequence amino acids 299-311 of Human Oligodendrocyte myelin glycoprotein according to NP_002535.3

While we know this to work in WB against this protein and have predicted it to work in a number of species,Cow, Human, Cynomolgus Monkey, Orangutan, we have not yet tested in each of these. For UNTESTED species, we have established a testing discount program. Here is a brief description of how it works:

The testing discount program is for customers who like to use an antibody/protein on an untested species/application. You would purchase the antibody at full price, test it and submit an Abreview with your data (positive or negative). On your next order you will receive a discount for ONE antibody at the full price (100%) of the antibody you have tested. The terms and conditions applicable to this offer can be found here:

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.
