    • Western blot analysis of immunoprecipitated paxillin (arrow) in mouse macrophages untreated (lanes 1 & 3) or treated with calyculin A (100 nM) for 30 min (lanes 2, 4, 5, & 6). Lysates were immunoprecipitated with anti-Paxillin. The blots were probed with anti-Paxillin or anti-phospho-Paxillin (Ser-83). The latter was used in the presence of phospho-Paxillin (Ser-83) peptide (lane 5) or phospho-Paxillin (Ser-85) peptide (lane 6). Immunoglobulin (Ig) chains from the immunoprecipitation were observed above and below the paxillin bands.

    Thank you for your enquiry. This antibody has yet to be tested in human or monkey tissue. The conserved site in human paxillin (Ser-83) has high homology with the mouse paxillin (Ser-83). There is only 2 amino acid differences, however there is evidence that in human the phosphorylation site is Ser-85 rather than Ser-83 (Journal of Cell Biology, (2004) Vol 164(4):593-602.). We have only shown that ab31833 works in mouse, but it may be useful for detecting Ser-83 in human. We currently do not sell the positive control I'm afraid. We do not routinely offer free or trial sized samples for testing purposes.
