The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
|WB||Use a concentration of 1 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 16 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 19 kDa).|
FunctionResponsible for the manifestation of peripheral-type benzodiazepine recognition sites and is most likely to comprise binding domains for benzodiazepines and isoquinoline carboxamides. May play a role in the transport of porphyrins and heme. Plays a role in the transport of cholesterol across mitochondrial membranes in steroidogenic cells.
Tissue specificityFound in many tissue types. Expressed at the highest levels under normal conditions in tissues that synthesize steroids.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the TspO/BZRP family.
Cellular localizationMitochondrion membrane.

Predicted band size: 19 kDa
Observed band size: 16 kDa why is the actual band size different from the predicted?
Additional bands at: 15 kDa. We are unsure as to the identity of these extra bands.
Exposure time: 3 minutes
The predicted molecular weight of PBR is 19 kDa (SwissProt), however we expect to observe a banding pattern around 16 kDa. Abcam welcomes customer feedback and would appreciate any comments regarding this product and the data presented above.
