    Plays a role in intracellular protein trafficking and degradation. May regulate CFTR chloride currents and acid-induced ACCN3 currents by modulating cell surface expression of both channels. May also regulate the intracellular trafficking of the ADR1B receptor. May play a role in autophagy. Overexpression results in CFTR intracellular retention and degradation in the lysosomes.

    Note=A chromosomal aberration involving GOPC is found in a glioblastoma multiforme sample. An intra-chromosomal deletion del(6)(q21q21) is responsible for the formation of GOPC-ROS1 chimeric protein which has a constitutive receptor tyrosine kinase activity.

  • ab109119 stained HeLa cells. The cells were 4% formaldhyde fixed for 10 minutes at room temperature and then incubated in 1%BSA / 10% normal goat serum / 0.3M glycine in 0.1% PBS-Tween for 1hour at room temperature to permeabilise the cells and block non-specific protein-protein interactions. The cells were then incubated with the antibody (ab109119 at 1/100) overnight at +4°C. The secondary antibody (pseudo-colored green) was Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) preadsorbed (ab150081) used at a 1/1000 dilution for 1hour at room temperature. Alexa Fluor® 594 WGA was used to label plasma membranes (pseudo-colored red) at a 1/200 dilution for 1hour at room temperature. DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclei (pseudo-colored blue) at a concentration of 1.43µM for 1hour at room temperature.

PIST has three isoforms: isoform 1 at 50.5 kDa and isoform 2 at 49.7 kDa (likely to appear as either a single thick band or a doublet), as well as isoform 3 at 35 kDa. These isoforms may be differentially expressed in different species, cell lines, or tissue types.

Our products have not been validated for use in vivo, and will not be guaranteed for that purpose. This antibody in particular, contains sodium azide which will be toxic in vivo. Unfortunately, we do not have any smaller sizes or free samples of our products.
