  • General notes

Ab231825 is the carrier-free version of ab216866. This format is designed for use in antibody labeling, including fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, enzymes.

Our carrier-free formats are supplied in a buffer free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol for higher conjugation efficiency.

Use our conjugation kits  for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with <1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.

ab231825 is compatible with the Maxpar® Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm.

Maxpar® is a trademark of Fluidigm Canada Inc.

Our RabMAb® technology is a patented hybridoma-based technology for making rabbit monoclonal antibodies. For details on our patents, please refer to RabMab® patents.

This product is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody.

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab231825 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
WB Use at an assay dependent concentration. Predicted molecular weight: 65 kDa.

  • Function

    Putative phospholipase.
  • Tissue specificity

Ubiquitously expressed, with highest levels in heart, brain and liver.
  • Sequence similarities

Belongs to the phospholipase B-like family.
  • Post-translational

The p76 protein is synthesized as a 80 kDa precursor which is then processed into a N-terminal 32 kDa form and a C-terminal 45 kDa form.
    Glycosylated; contains mannose 6-phosphate sugars.
  • Cellular localization

    Lysosome lumen.

    Developed using the ECL technique.

    Predicted band size: 65 kDa
    Observed band size: 76 kDa
why is the actual band size different from the predicted?
Additional bands at: 32/28 kDa (possible cleavage fragment)

Blocking and dilution buffer: 5% NFDM/TBST.

    Exposure times.

    Lanes 1 & 2: 59 seconds

    Lane 3: 15 seconds.

    Lanes 4 & 5: 3 seconds.

    Lanes 6 & 7: 3 minutes.

Full-length PLBD2 (76 kDa) can be cleaved into N-terminal and C-terminal fragments according to the literature (PMID:17007843, PMID: 17105447).

This antibody recognizes both full-length and the N-terminal fragment of PLBD2.

This data was developed using the same antibody clone in a different buffer formulation containing PBS, BSA, glycerol, and sodium azide (ab216866).
