Question

My lab recently purchased an antibody from abcam (Anti-POMC, ab 32893) which in the species reactivity section said "predicted to react with rat due to sequence homology". I needed it to do an IHC on frozen rat brain sections, I tried all different dilutions from 1:200 to 1:400 using standard IHC protocol and I didn't see staining in any of my sections (esp. in general hypothalamus area). Therefore I believe this antibody doesn't react with rat and it'd be nice if you will remove that prediction from this antibody. Also I didn't see any special pre-treatment on the data sheet for this antibody, if there is one, I'd appreciate it if you'll let me know and I'll try it out.
