  • Function
May regulate the disassembly of focal adhesions. May localize receptor-like tyrosine phosphatases type 2A at specific sites on the plasma membrane, possibly regulating their interaction with the extracellular environment and their association with substrates.
  • Tissue specificity
  • Sequence similarities
Belongs to the liprin family. Liprin-alpha subfamily.
Contains 3 SAM (sterile alpha motif) domains.
  • Domain
The N-terminal coiled coil regions mediate homodimerization preferentially and heterodimerization type alpha/alpha. The C-terminal, non-coiled coil regions mediate heterodimerization type alpha/beta and interaction with PTPRD, PTPRF and PTPRS.
  • Cellular localization
Cytoplasm. Colocalizes with PTPRF at the ends of focal adhesions most proximal to the cell nucleus.

Thank you for your enquiry. The reference on the datasheet for ab26192 is a general reference on liprin alpha 1, it does not refer to the antibody I'm afraid. I'm sorry this caused confusion. We are not aware of publications having used this antibody yet, the antibody has only been tested against an E coli-derived fusion protein as test antigen and gave a single band as expected. I'm sorry I do not have further information to help you, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of further help,
