IHC-P Use a concentration of 2 µg/ml.
WB Use a concentration of 2 - 4 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 23 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 23 kDa).

Target

  • Relevance
Precerebellin is the precursor of the brain-specific hexadecapeptide cerebellin, a protein with substantial similarity to the globular region of the B chain of complement component C1q. The active form of Precerebellin is highly enriched in postsynaptic structures of cerebellar Purkinje cells in cartwheel neurons of the dorsal cochlear nucleus.

Customer reviews and Q&As

Answer

Thank you for your enquiry.

In answer to your questions:

1. Regarding ab36909 Precerebellin antibody

Based on the immunogen sequence, this antibody should detect precerebellin and cerebellin-1 (precerebellin without the signal peptide), but it should not detect cerebellin or [des-Ser1]-cerebellin.

The immunogen does span the cleavage site for cerebellin, but there does not seem to be enough overlap with the cerebellin peptide sequence to merit antibody cross-reaction.

I am sorry we are not able to provide the exact immunogen sequence on this occasion as this particular antibody is sourced externally and the information is confidential.

Here is a link to the Uniprot protein database site page for cerebellin 1 which will have further information:

http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P23435

2. The CBLN1 antibody (ab64184) will detect cerebellin 1.

I hope this information will be helpful to you. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
