Applications

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab8117 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
IHC-P Use a concentration of 2 µg/ml.

WB Use a concentration of 0.5 - 1 µg/ml. Detects a band of approximately 55 kDa.

Target

  • Relevance

Caspase 12 is activated by ER stress, including disruption of ER calcium homeostasis and mediates ER stress-induced apoptosis. Caspase 12 is co-localized to the ER with several proteins that are involved in Alzheimers disease including gamma-secretase presenilin and beta-amyloid precursor protein (APP). Caspase 12 mediates cytotoxicity induced by amyloid-beta. It is ubiquitously expressed in mouse tissue.
  • Cellular localization

    Endoplasmic reticulum

Answer

We do not have an Italian distributor but you can place your orders directly through us. This can be done online, by fax (0033 1223 472038), phone (0033 1223 472030) or email (orders@abcam.com). Ab8117 does cross-react with human. Unfortunately I do not have any data available to send you. However, our policy at Abcam is that if an antibody does not work as specified on the datasheet, we will offer a replacement or reimbursement. I do not have any information at the moment regarding the recognition of the two forms of this protein. I am in touch with the source of the antibody and will contact you as soon as I have any further information.
