Target
-
Function
Receptor for adenosine. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylyl cyclase. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. -
Domain
The cytoplasmic C-terminal domain is necessary for targeting the non-ubiquitinated form of this protein to the cell surface. -
Post-translational
modificationsUbiquitinated. Deubiquitinated by USP4; leading to stabilization and expression at the cell surface. -
Cellular localization
Cell membrane. - Information by UniProt

Immunofluorescence staining of fixed HepG2 cells with anti-A2A-Adenosine Receptor antibody Ig2838 (ab288412)
Immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed HepG2 cells on Shi-fix™ coverslips, permeabilized with 0.15% Triton and stained with ab288412 at 10 µg/ml for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody (2 µg/ml), showing granular cytoplasmic staining, possibly of protein in trafficking vesicles. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show from left-right, top-bottom ab288412, DAPI, merged channels and an isotype control. The isotype control was stained with an unknown specificity antibody followed by Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody.
