Question

I am interested in buying this antibody, but I am puzzled because the WB picture shows only one band and AT-1 receptor is a glycosilated protein. Does this antibody not recognize glycosilated forms of the protein? And also I have noticed that you detected the protein in cellular line extracts, but what about tissues such as kidney or heart? Thanks in advance

Answer

Thank you for your interest in ab124734, anti AT-1 receptor. The antibody should be capable of detecting glycosylated receptor. The individual bands shown on the datasheet western blot image may be fully glycosylated receptor, assuming this is how the protein is modified in those cell lines, C2C12, HeLa, PC12 and HepG2, and assuming that the unmodified precursor is present in relatively small amounts compared to the mature protein. The banding pattern seems to be consistent with the blot results for most of the other antibodies we have for the receptor.

We do not have data for tissue lysates. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
