Target
-
Function
Involved in intra-Golgi traffic. Modulates intra-Golgi transport through coupling between NSF activity and SNAREs activation. It first stimulates the ATPase activity of NSF which in turn stimulates the association with GOSR1. -
Tissue specificity
Ubiquitous. Expressed at high levels in the brain, heart, prostate, ovary, spleen and skeletal muscle. Expressed at very low levels in lung, thymus and small intestine. -
Sequence similarities
Belongs to the MAP1 LC3 family. -
Post-translational
modificationsPhosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR. -
Cellular localization
Golgi apparatus. - Information by UniProt

Lanes 1 - 4: Merged signal (red and green). Green - ab126607 observed at 15 kDa. Red - loading control, ab8245, observed at 37 kDa.ab126607 was shown to specifically react with GABARAPL2 / GATE-16 when GABARAPL2 / GATE-16 knockout samples were used. Wild-type and GABARAPL2 / GATE-16 knockout samples were subjected to SDS-PAGE. ab126607 and ab8245 (loading control to GAPDH) were diluted 1/1000 and 1/10 000 respectively and incubated overnight at 4°C. Blots were developed with Goat anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (IRDye® 800CW) preadsorbed (ab216773) and Goat anti-Mouse IgG H&L (IRDye® 680RD) preadsorbed (ab216776) secondary antibodies at 1/10 000 dilution for 1 h at room temperature before imaging.
