Relevance
GST (Glutathione S-Transferase) is a 26kDa protein encoded by the parasitic helminth Schistosoma japonicum and widely used in the pGEX family of GST plasmid expression vectors as a fusion protein with foreign proteins. -

Western blot using mouse monoclonal [3D4] anti-GST antibody (ab34589) to detect purified GST recombinant protein (left) and in a lysate of HeLa cells expressing recombinant GST protein (right). Approximately 0.1µg of protein was separated by SDS-PAGE and transferred onto nitrocellulose. After blocking, the membrane was probed with primary antibody diluted to 1.0µg/ml for 1 h at room temperature, followed by washes and reaction with a 1:5000 dilution of IRDye 800 conjugated Gt-a-Mouse IgG [H&L] MX. The fluorescence image was captured using a LI-COR imaging system. Band size: approximately 26kDa.
