Target

  • Pathway

    Lipid metabolism; fatty acid beta-oxidation.
  • Involvement in disease

Defects in HADHB are a cause of trifunctional protein deficiency (TFP deficiency) [MIM:609015]. The clinical manifestations are very variable and include hypoglycemia, cardiomyopathy and sudden death. Phenotypes with mainly hepatic and neuromyopathic involvement can also be distinguished. Biochemically, TFP deficiency is defined by the loss of all three enzyme activities of the TFP complex.
  • Sequence similarities

    Belongs to the thiolase family.
  • Cellular localization

    Mitochondrion.

    Answer

Thank you very much for your telephone call this morning. As discussed, to our knowledge I am sorry to confirm that ab110302 or ab110281 have not been tested in rabbit samples. Both these antibodies have been raised against the native human HADHA protein, the sequence of which is on the following protein database link: http://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/P40939 I am sorry I have regrettably not been able to find the rabbit sequence to perform an alignment for you. I can recommend to try this if you have the rabbit sequence? Or if you are able to send the rabbit sequence to me, I can perform the alignment for you. As discussed on the phone, if the alignment is high enough, it is quite likely that the antibody would detect in rabbit. In this case, if the alignment is high I will be able to offer a discount off a future purchase if you buy one of the antibodies now, test it in rabbit and submit feedback to us in the form of an Abreview. It doesn’t matter whether the Abreview is positive or negative, we would just really like to receive your feedback. The discount would be to the value of 1 free primary antibody. If the alignment is high and you are interested in this offer, you would then need to proceed as follows: 1. Let me know that you would like to proceed and test one of the antibodies in rabbit. I will then send a discount code. This code must be issued before purchasing the antibody so please wait for my reply before ordering. 2. Purchase the antibody either by phone, fax, or online (www.abcam.com). 3. Test it in rabbit. 4. Let us know the results, positive or negative, using our Abreview system (this will take about 10 minutes and images are great if you have them!). To find out more about our Abreview system, please visit: https://www.abcam.com/abreviews. 5. After the review is submitted to us, the discount code becomes active. Simply place your new order by phone, fax, or on the web and mention the discount code. The discount can be redeemed for any primary antibody ordered and the discount code is valid for 4 months after issue. We are always pleased to obtain feedback about our products and any information is greatly appreciated! Even if the antibody turns out to be unsuitable for rabbit, you will still receive the discount on your next purchase after your Abreview has been submitted. The Terms and Conditions of this offer can be found at: www.abcam.com/collaborationdiscount. I look forward to hearing from you with the rabbit sequence or the results of the alignment. Please let me know if you have any questions about the offer and I would be happy to help you further. Have a good day.
