Target

  • Function

Possible adhesion molecule with a role in early hematopoiesis by mediating the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or directly to stromal cells. Could act as a scaffold for the attachment of lineage specific glycans, allowing stem cells to bind to lectins expressed by stromal cells or other marrow components. Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins.
  • Tissue specificity

Selectively expressed on hematopoietic progenitor cells and the small vessel endothelium of a variety of tissues.
  • Sequence similarities

    Belongs to the CD34 family.
  • Developmental stage

    On early hematopoietic progenitor cells.
  • Post-translational
    modifications

    Highly glycosylated.
Phosphorylated on serine residues by PKC.
  • Cellular localization

    Membrane.

    Question

What is the concentration of this Ab?

    Asked on May 11 2006

    Answer

Thank you for your enquiry. The protein concentration of this preparation is not measured following conjugation to R-PE as the PE interferes with the estimation of ab concentration, hence the preparation is measured in "tests" as assessed by QC. However as a guide, the approximate concentration of this antibody is 0.1mg/ml. The IgG was purified on Protein G prior to conjugation. If you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to get back in touch with me.
