Neurotrophic protein; induces extensive neuronal differentiation in retinoblastoma cells. Potent inhibitor of angiogenesis. As it does not undergo the S (stressed) to R (relaxed) conformational transition characteristic of active serpins, it exhibits no serine protease inhibitory activity. -

Immunofluorescent analysis of 100% methanol-fixed, 0.1% Triton X-100 permeabilized HepG2 (human hepatocellular carcinoma epithelial cell) cells labeling PEDF with AB307083 at 1/100 dilution (5.76 ug/ml), followed by ab150081 Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) preadsorbed antibody at 1/1000 dilution (2 ug/ml) (Green).
