    • General notes

It is thought that axons of pioneer neurons serve as a pathway for additional neurons that develop later in the embryo and project their axons to the appropriate target. In many systems pioneer neurons are eliminated by programmed cell-death and are not present in the adult.

Location : Fin hair cell, hindbrain horizontal cell, retinal cone cell, retinal inner plexiform layer and pioneer neuron.

ab183372 staining in 4 dpf zebrafish embryo retina sections by IHC-Fr. The tissue was fixed with paraformaldehyde and permeabilization was performed using 0.5% Triton X. Blocking of the sample was done with 5% BSA in PBS containing 0.5% Triton X, for 60 minutes at 23°C, followed by staining with ab183372 at 1/100 in blocking solution for 16h at 4°C. An alexa 647conjugated goat anti-mouse polyclonal antibody at 1/500 was used as the secondary antibody. Nuclei are stained in blue with DAPI. The IPL and OPL can be observed.
