Applications

The Abpromise guarantee

Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab9835 in the following tested applications.

The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Application Abreviews Notes
Sandwich ELISA
Use at an assay dependent concentration.

To detect Human SCGF-beta by sandwich ELISA (using 100 ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 ug/ml of this antibody is required.

Neutralising
Use at an assay dependent concentration.

for one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of hSCGFb (30.00 ng/ml).

WB
Use at an assay dependent concentration.
ELISA
Use at an assay dependent concentration.

Allows the detection of 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hSCGFb.

Target

  • Function

Stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic precursor cells from various lineages, including erythrocytes, lymphocytes, granulocytes and macrophages. Acts synergistically with other cytokines, including IL-3, GCSF, GMCSF and FLT3 ligand. Suppresses SCF-stimulated erythrocyte proliferation.
  • Tissue specificity

Expressed in skeletal tissues including bone marrow, chondrocytes, primary ossification center-associated cells, the perichondrium and periosteum. Lower levels of expression were detected in spleen, thymus, appendix and fetal liver.
  • Sequence similarities

    Contains 1 C-type lectin domain.
  • Developmental stage

In the bone marrow, expression is limited to immature neutrophils. Expression was not detected in circulating mature neutrophils.
  • Post-translational
    modifications

O-glycosylated. Probably sulfated on the O-glycans.
  • Cellular localization

    Cytoplasm. Secreted.

    Answer

Thank you for contacting us. At Abcam we aim to provide our customers with a wide range of products to fit our researchers needs, and this somtimes results in very similar antibodies in our catalog. These two antibodies are both goat polyclonal with the same immunogen, recombinant hSCGFb, have the same purification and the same buffer (PBS). The difference is what applications they are tested for. Both are tested for WB and ELISA, however the antibody ab9835 has been tested for neutralising, while ab110493 has been tested for sandwich ELISA and has a matched pair.
I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.
