    • General notes

Abcam’s HRP Stability Conjugate Reagent (ab171537) was developed specifically for Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugates in solution. ab171537 is readily incorporated into virtually any assay production protocol. Conjugates can be added directly to ab171537 and are then ready for storage and use. It is also an excellent diluent, and often decreases background and increases signal for improved signal-to-noise ratios. ab171537 prevents the loss of catalytic activity while it maintains the conformation of the antibody or protein-antigen portion of the conjugate.

Recommendations for Use of ab171537 HRP Stability Conjugate Reagent

      • For optimal stability and performance, use ab171537 at 100% concentration
      • Dilute your HRP conjugate to optimum working concentration in the HRP Stability Conjugate Reagent solution
      • Use diluted conjugate working solution in your assay as normal
      • Or, preferably, store away from direct light at room temperature and use as a stock solution for optimum assay-to-assay consistency

NOTE – When storing any conjugate/ HRP Stability Conjugate Reagent solution for an extended period of time: If a phosphate buffer is used for dilution we recommend a final concentration of no more than 5 mM buffer to avoid the possibility of initiating precipitation.

    • ELISA - HRP Stability Conjugate Reagent (ab171537)
ELISA - HRP Stability Conjugate Reagent (ab171537)

HRP Stability Conjugate Reagent (ab171537) efficacy was verified by real-time stability studies that included independent testing of the enzyme activity and the immunological activity by ELISA.

The studies were conducted using a monoclonal IgG-HRP conjugate. Results of these analyses indicate superior performance of ab171537 compared to a common HRP conjugate diluent. The monoclonal IgG-HRP conjugate retained over 90% of its activity when stored in HRP Stability Conjugate Reagent for 24 months at room temperature.

    Asked on May 14 2013

    Answer

We use a 1:10,000 dilution of the conjugate in ab171537. We recommend you first try diluting the HRP conjugate to your normal use concentration. You may consider a small accelerated study to determine whether or not you are getting the stability you need.

    Question

What can be used to dilute ab171537?

    Abcam community

    Verified customer

    Asked on May 14 2013

    Answer

We recommend using ab171537 undiluted for maximum stabilization. However, in cases where you feel it may be necessary to dilute the products (e.g., 1:1) please use ab171537 diluted in deionized water.
NOTE: Phosphate buffers cause precipitation in ab171537 when used at >10% total volume.
