Our Abpromise guarantee covers the use of ab174322 in the following tested applications.
The application notes include recommended starting dilutions; optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
|WB||1/1000 - 1/5000. Detects a band of approximately 13 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 15 kDa).|
|IP||1/10 - 1/100.|
FunctionBinds to actin and affects the structure of the cytoskeleton. At high concentrations, profilin prevents the polymerization of actin, whereas it enhances it at low concentrations. By binding to PIP2, it inhibits the formation of IP3 and DG.
Tissue specificityHighly expressed in brain, skeletal muscle and kidney and less strongly in heart, placenta, lung and liver.
Sequence similaritiesBelongs to the profilin family.
Cellular localizationCytoplasm > cytoskeleton.
