    • Product overview

Abcam’s Progesterone in vitro competitive ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is designed for the accurate quantitative measurement of Progesterone in saliva.

A 96-well plate has been precoated with anti-Progesterone antibodies. Samples and the Progesterone-HRP conjugate are added to the wells, where Progesterone in the sample competes with the added Progesterone-HRP conjugate for antibody binding. After incubation, the wells are washed to remove unbound material and TMB substrate is then added which is catalyzed by HRP to produce blue coloration. The reaction is terminated by addition of Stop Solution which stops the color development and produces a color change from blue to yellow. The intensity of signal is inversely proportional to the amount of Progesterone in the sample and the intensity is measured at 450 nm.

Your ab178652 Elisa kit can measure the progesterone in supernatant of Rat ovary cells. Rat granulosa cells were growing in McCoy 5A medium containing 0.1% BSA treated for 48hrs then collected supernatant. Levels of progesterone in the supernatant were measured in duplicate using Ab178652 Progesterone ELISA kit , according to the manufacturer's instructions. Basal level of progesterone in supernatant is 30 to 40 pg/ml
