  • Function

    Receptor for prokineticin 2. Exclusively coupled to the G(q) subclass of heteromeric G proteins. Activation leads to mobilization of calcium, stimulation of phosphoinositide turnover and activation of p44/p42 mitogen-activated protein kinase.

I have just been informed that the information that I gave yesterday in regards to ab90622 was incorrect. The homology of the chick protein is more than 85% homology with the region of the mouse protein from which the antibody was raised. We would therefore expect this antibody to react with your protein of interest. I'm very sorry for this confusion, an error was made in the alignment of the two proteins. If you are still interested in this antibody I would be happy to offer a testing discount. This would involve you buying ab90622, testing it with your chick GPR73B protein, submitting an Abreview (positive or negative) and you would then be eligible for a free primary antibody of your choice. I have now received confirmation on the homology of the final antibody ab90622 and unfortunately the sequence similarity with the immunogen is again very poor, we would therefore not expect this antibody to recognise the chick protein either. Thank you for contacting us. I have looked into the 3 antibodies (ab42805, ab90622, ab99453) that we have against GPR73B to see which ones are most likely to also recognise chick GPR73B. ab42805 and ab99453 are both raised against the N-terminal end of human GPR73B (SwissProt Q8NFJ6), which is significantly different from that of chick (SwissProt number B9W049). I would therefore unfortunately not expect either of these antibodies to react with the chick form of the protein. ab90622 is raised against the C-terminal end of mouse GPR73B (SwissProt Q8K458). This region shares much higher homology with that of the chick protein (around 77%) however, in order to know how likely it is going to be that this antibody will react I will check further with the with the lab where the antibody is produced and get back to you as soon as I can.
