      Asked on Dec 05 2012

      Answer

      Thank you for contacting us.

I have been informed that this product is tested using recombinant PTP phosphatase domains. The expected size for these recombinant peptides is around ˜65kDa. We have not tested this in endogenous systems however it is expected that PTPk targets will be around 160 kDa.

      Question

Inquiry: I am looking for an antibody that will work on Human PTPRK in an immunoblot and with FACS as well. Can you tell me if ab13225 will do the job? Does it bind inter or extracellularly?

      Asked on Nov 01 2012

      Answer

Thank you for your enquiry and your interest.

This is a polyclonal antibody so it binds to different epitopes. Thus for polyclonal antibodies epitope mapping is usually not carried out.

I can confirm that ab13225 has only been tested on Western blot application. Currently, we do not have any information if ab13225 recognizes the native form of the protein or only the denatured form.

I could offer you a testing discount if you wish to test it in Flow cytometry/FACS. I would advise you to visit the following site where the Terms and Conditions of our testing initiative can be found at: www.abcam.com/abtrial.

If you need any further assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me.
