Product namePyrene azide 1, Excimer forming fluorescent dye azide
DescriptionExcimer forming fluorescent dye azide with high sensitivity to its microenvironment for click chemistry.
Polyaromatic hydrocarbon with strong short-wavelength fluorescence. Strong sensitivity to microenvironment. Thus, its fluorescence is different in polar, and nonpolar environments. When two pyrenes are in close proximity, they form excimers. Excimer formation can be easily observed, and quantitatively estimated using fluorescent spectra. Used for pyrene click chemistry labeling of any alkyne-bearing molecule. Contains hydrophilic triethyleneglycol linker to mitigate intrinsic pyrene hydrophobicity, and facilitate attachment to biomolecules in aqueous solutions.
Storage instructionsStore at -20°C. It is important to note that this product is reported to be light sensitive. Store In the Dark. Store under desiccating conditions.
Solubility overviewSoluble in DMSO
Wherever possible, you should prepare and use solutions on the same day. However, if you need to make up stock solutions in advance, we recommend that you store the solution as aliquots in tightly sealed vials at -20°C. Generally, these will be useable for up to one month. Before use, and prior to opening the vial we recommend that you allow your product to equilibrate to room temperature for at least 1 hour.
