FunctionCatalyzes the oxidation of sulfhydryl groups in peptide and protein thiols to disulfides with the reduction of oxygen to hydrogen peroxide. May contribute to disulfide bond formation in a variety of secreted proteins. Also seems to play a role in regulating the sensitization of neuroblastoma cells for interferon-gamma-induced apoptosis.

Detection of QSOX2 in immunoprecipitates of HeLa whole cell lysate prepared using RIPA lysis buffer (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) using ab191168 at 6 µg/mg lysate for IP and at 1 µg/ml for subsequent Western blot detection (Lane 1). Lane 2 represents control IgG IP.
Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.
