    Target

    • Relevance

RAB28 belongs to the small GTPase superfamily. There are two isoforms. Isoform S is detected in most tissues investigated (cortex, liver, kidney, skeletal muscle, adipose tissue, testis and urothelium), whereas isoform L is predominant in testis.

    Question

We plan to have a study on Rab28 GTPase and would like to purchase its antibody from Abcam. In your website, there are two kinds of Rab28 antibodies: ab67077 and ab67085. They have very close descriptions. If ab67077, which predicted molecular weight 12 kDa, is the isoform S? On the other hand, if ab67085, which predicted molecular weight 26KD, is the isoform L? These isoforms of Rab28 have very different tissue distributions,

    Answer

ab67077 is actually a fragment of Rab28. I have updated the datasheet. Apologies for the confusion. This is why different bands sizes for immunogen transfected samples are seen. Both antibodies should be able to recognize both isoforms if present.
