Answer

Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately ab18536 and ab18541 have not been tested in ChIP. It doesn’t mean they won’t work in this application, but we don’t have data to support it.

If you are interested in participating in our antibodies evaluation system (Abreview), and test any of these antibodies with ChIP I will be happy to offer a discount code for a future purchase if you submit the results (in a form of an Abreview) to our website.

Therefore, I can offer a discount off a future purchase if you buy an antibody and test it in the new application and submit feedback to us in the form of an Abreview. It doesn’t matter whether the Abreview is positive or negative, we would just really like to receive your feedback.

If you are interested in this offer, please follow these steps:

1. Reply to this e-mail to let me know that you would like to proceed and test either (or both) of the antibodies in ChIP. I will then send a discount code. This code must be issued before purchasing the antibody so please wait for my reply before ordering.

2. Purchase the antibody either by phone, fax, or online (www.abcam.com).

3. Test it in the new application.

4. Let us know the results, positive or negative, using our Abreview system (this will take about 10 minutes and images are great if you have them!).

To find out more about our Abreview system, please visit: https://www.abcam.com/abreviews.

5. After the review is submitted to us, the discount code becomes active. Simply place your new order by phone, fax, or on the web and mention the discount code. The discount can be redeemed for any primary antibody ordered and the discount code is valid for 4 months after issue.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this offer and I would be happy to help you further.

The Terms and Conditions of this offer can be found at: https://www.abcam.com/abtrial.

Please notice these are isotype control antibodies, they will not bind Rat IgG2b, but they will confirm the primary antibody is binding to the specific target, and not randomly performing non specific Fc receptor binding.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.

Answer

Thank you for your inquiry.

I am sorry to confirm that ab37361 is not aa IgG2b antibody but a mixture of rat IgGs of all isotypes.

I can suggest to following antibody for your customer's experiments:

ab18536 (Rat IgG2b, kappa monoclonal [RTK4530] - BSA/Azide free)

It is of the IgG2b isotype and is supplied in PBS. Please review the datasheet for more information:

https://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=18536 (or use the following: https://www.abcam.com/index.html?datasheet=18536).

I hope this information is helpful and wish you a good mid week :-)

This antibody is 0.2 μm filter sterilized. Endotoxin level is < 0.1 EU/μg of the protein (< 0.01 ng/μg of the protein) as determined by the LAL (Limulus amebocyte lysate) test. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Answer

Thank you for your enquiry. I have been in touch with the lab and I have determined that this antibody was generated by immunisation of naïve rat with TNP+KLH and fused with FO mouse myeloma cell line. The isotype of this antibody is IgG2b, k (tested by using BioLegend's rat Ig isotyping panel). It has been tested by immunofluroresent staining and flow cytometric analysis on a variety of cell types. It does not show any specific binding with the tested cells, and can be used as isotype control. We currently do not have published data about this antibody for in vivo studies in mouse model. However, to the best of our knowledge, this antibody should not have any specific effects on mouse cells. We have sold a lot of this product for both in vitro and in vivo studies, especially in bulk quantities for in-vivo studies, and have not had any complaints. We also have many repeat customers for this product. I hope this information helps, please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any more advice or information.
