FunctionCore histone-binding subunit that may target chromatin remodeling factors, histone acetyltransferases and histone deacetylases to their histone substrates in a manner that is regulated by nucleosomal DNA. Component of several complexes which regulate chromatin metabolism. These include the type B histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex, which is required for chromatin assembly following DNA replication; the core histone deacetylase (HDAC) complex, which promotes histone deacetylation and consequent transcriptional repression; the nucleosome remodeling and histone deacetylase complex (the NuRD complex), which promotes transcriptional repression by histone deacetylation and nucleosome remodeling; and the PRC2/EED-EZH2 complex, which promotes repression of homeotic genes during development; and the NURF (nucleosome remodeling factor) complex.

RbAp46 was immunoprecipitated from 1mg of HeLa (Human epithelial cell line from cervix adenocarcinoma) whole cell lysate with ab264159 at 3 µg/mg lysate. Western blot was performed from the immunoprecipitate using ab264159 at 1 µg/ml.
Lane 1: ab264159 IP in HeLa whole cell lysate.
Lane 2: Control IgG.
Exposure time: 30 secs.
Immunohistochemical analysis of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human breast carcinoma (left panel) and mouse teratoma (right panel) tissue labeling RbAp46 with ab264159 at 1/200 dilution. Detection: DAB.
Epitope retrieval with citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for FFPE tissue sections.
