Hello, I was wondering if it was normal that I detect two bands when I perform a Western Blot against the gB protein with a CMV anti-gB monoclonal antibody (2F12 clone). It looks like a doublet on the gel, around 37 kDa of MW. -4ug loaded -CMV gB mouse monoclonal ab 1:1000 -goat anti-mouse ab 1:50,000 -Detection WestFemto kit, 10 min exposure

Thank you for contacting Abcam.
I have been in contact with the lab about your enquiry as to whether a doublet was expected on a western blot, when you ran ab43040 on a western blot. They have asked for some more information:
1 .How much protein was on the PAGE?
2. Was the protein pre-heated in loading buffer prior to loading?
3. Can you supply an image of the western blot?
I look forward to your reply and helping resolve this issue.
