I am looking for a positive control for detection of p17 by western blotting. What is the size of this EBV protein?
Asked on Jul 06 2012
The protein is a fragment of the early antigen region of EBV, and has a proprietary tag (26 kDa). So, it is unlikely to be of use as a western blot positive control for endogenous protein. In any case, western blotting is listed on the datasheet as an application because the protein is at least capable of being detected in blots. Its utility is more for ELISA than westerns. Please let me know if you have any questions.
