    L1 is a major capsid protein of type 16 human papilloma virus. Infection with specific types of HPV has been associated with an increased risk of developing cervical neoplasia. HPV types 6 and 11 have been associated with relatively benign diseases such as genital warts but types 16 and 18 are strongly associated with cervical, vaginal, and vulvar malignancies.

Below is a more detailed description of antigen quantification for these protein products:

The determination of the quantities of L1 proteins in each VLP preparation was based on the comparison with the known quantities of L1 (µL) and BSA proteins (µg) run in the same gel. Few quantities (1, 2, 3 µL per lane from the same VLP preparation) of HPV16 or HPV18 L1 VLPs were loaded on the SDS-PAGE gel next to BSA protein (0.1; 0,5; 1; 1,5, 2, 3 µg per lane). The quantities of L1 and BSA proteins loaded on the gel was determined by the densitometric scanning of the Coomassie brilliant blue stained protein bands fractionated by SDS-PAGE, using the ImageScanner III (GE Healthcare, Little Chalfont, UK ) device. Quantitative analysis was conducted with the ImageQuantTL software supplied with the instrument. At least three scans of each VLP preparation were obtained and average concentration was calculated.

While preparing the CoC for these products, I realized that we have an important information for the customer: Indeed, some vials of the lot xx ab119880 might contain 100ug instead of 50ug.We had about a dozen vials, for which we are unfortunatelynot able to determine whether thevial contains 100ug or 50ug. The 4 vials you have ordered lately are part of these vials. I am very sorry. Can you please check with the customer whether he had any problems in this regards? Please let us know whether there have been any problems, or whether there might be any problems and I will do my best to solve this.
