    • Function

This is one of the several different receptors for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity.
    • Sequence similarities

Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor subfamily. HTR1A sub-subfamily.
    • Cellular localization

      Cell membrane.

    Pre-absorption control for 5HT1A receptor antibody ab227165

    Poor
    Abreviews
    Abreviews
    abreview image
    Application
    Functional Studies
    Material:
    Protein: ab132419
    Primary antibody: ab227165
Tissue: frozen rat brain tissue sections
    Method: pre-absorption of
staining of free-floating sections in well-plates
    Trial:
Pre-absorption of the protein was accomplished by incubation of protein with primary antibody in carrier (dilution 1:1000) for 4 hours. Concentration of the primary antibody was 1 µg/ml and of the protein 5 µg/ml. The excess of protein was chosen on other pre-absorption control protocols. The pre-absorption was carried out prior to the previously established staining process with 3,3-Diamino benzidine. Carrier for the pre-absorption control and antibody consisted of goat serum and triton.
    Result:
No pre-absorption of the primary antibody could be detected with this method. The staining of pre-absorption control and staining looked very similar.
