Preparation and Storage

  • Stability and Storage

Shipped at 4°C. Upon reconsitution add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA). Store at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid freeze / thaw cycle. Store In the Dark.

    pH: 7.50
    Constituents: 5% Trehalose, 0.61% Tris, 0.75% Glycine

    0.22 µm filtered

This product is an active protein and may elicit a biological response in vivo, handle with caution.

  • Reconstitution
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized product in sterile deionized water to a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Solubilize for 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature with occasional gentle mixing. Carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is strongly recommended for further dilution and long-term storage.

  • Function

Receptor for TNFSF13B/BLyS/BAFF and TNFSF13/APRIL. Promotes B-cell survival and plays a role in the regulation of humoral immunity. Activates NF-kappa-B and JNK.
  • Tissue specificity

Expressed in mature B-cells, but not in T-cells or monocytes.
  • Involvement in disease

Note=A chromosomal aberration involving TNFRSF17 is found in a form of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). Translocation t(4;16)(q26;p13) with IL2.
  • Sequence similarities

    Contains 1 TNFR-Cys repeat.
  • Cellular localization

Cell membrane. Endomembrane system. Perinuclear Golgi-like structures.
  • Information by UniProt

  • 293 cells were transfected with anti-BCMA-scFv and RFP tag. 2e5 of the cells were first stained with B. Biotinylated Human BCMA, Fc,Avitag and C. biotinylated protein control, followed by FITC-conjugated streptavidin. A. Non-transfected 293 cells and C. biotinylated protein control were used as negative control. RFP was used to evaluate CAR (anti-BCMA-scFv) expression and FITC was used to evaluate the binding activity of Biotinylated Human BCMA, Fc,Avitag .
  • SDS-PAGE - Human BCMA protein (Fc Chimera Active) (Biotin) (ab246079).

The gel was stained overnight with Coomassie Blue.

As a result of glycosylation, the protein migrates as 40-45 kDa under reducing conditions (shown in image), and 70-85 kDa under non-reducing conditions (not shown).
