Preparation and Storage

  • Stability and Storage

Shipped at 4°C. Store at 4°C (stable for up to 12 months). Store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze / thaw cycle.

    pH: 6.5
Constituents: 0.98% MES, 0.58% Sodium chloride

5-10% trehalose is commonly used for freeze drying, and after reconstitution, the trehalose is mostly about 3-5%.

  • Reconstitution
Reconstitute the lyophilized product in sterile deionized water to a final concentration of 1 mg/ml. Solubilize for 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature with occasional gentle mixing. Carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is strongly recommended for further dilution and long term storage. After reconstitution, store under sterile conditions for 3 months (-70oC).

  • Function

Specifically removes C-terminal basic residues (Arg or Lys) from peptides and proteins. It is believed to play important roles in the control of peptide hormone and growth factor activity at the cell surface, and in the membrane-localized degradation of extracellular proteins.
  • Sequence similarities

Belongs to the peptidase M14 family.
  • Cellular localization

    Cell membrane.
  • Information by UniProt

Images

  • SDS-PAGE analysis of DTT reduced ab219891 stained overnight with Coomassie Blue.

DTT-reduced Protein migrates as 49 kDa in SDS-PAGE due to glycosylation.
