Preparation and Storage

  • Stability and Storage

    Shipped at 4°C. The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature. Store at -20°C long term.

    pH: 7.50
    Constituents: 0.32% Tris HCl, 0.88% Sodium chloride

  • Reconstitution
    Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Do not mix by vortex or pipetting. Dissolve the lyophilized protein in 1X PBS. It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 µg/ml.
    Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4-7°C for 2-7 days. For long term storage aliquot and store at < -20°C.

  • Relevance

    CRHBP is a potent stimulator of synthesis and secretion of preopiomelanocortin derived peptides. Although CRH concentrations in the human peripheral circulation are normally low, they increase throughout pregnancy and fall rapidly after parturition. Maternal plasma CRH probably originates from the placenta. Human plasma contains a CRH binding protein which inactivates CRH and which may prevent inappropriate pituitary adrenal stimulation in pregnancy.
