    Transcription activator that binds DNA cooperatively with dp proteins through the E2 recognition site, 5'-TTTC[CG]CGC-3' found in the promoter region of a number of genes whose products are involved in cell cycle regulation or in DNA replication. The DRTF1/E2F complex functions in the control of cell-cycle progression from G1 to S phase. E2F-1 binds preferentially RB1 protein, in a cell-cycle dependent manner. It can mediate both cell proliferation and p53-dependent apoptosis.

I suggest this protein will need to be reduced and denatured before loading onto the gel. Therefore, the customer will need to add sample buffer (containing SDS and mercaptoethanol) and boil for 5 minutes, as with any other protein sample.

However, detection of native or reduced and denatured protein can depend on the antibody. Therefore, I can recommend to review the information on the primary antibody datasheet. If this state the antibody detects only the native protein in non reducing non denatured form in western blot, then the customer will probably not need to reduce and denature.
