Thanks for your enquiry. ab101197 is our only EB3 protein product. This product is a recombinant, full length protein produced in E. coli. The SDS PAGE gel does show the protein in its monomeric form as the gel format is denaturing and reducing. In solutiion, the protein may be a dimer but this has not been tested. This protein has also not yet been tested to determine if it is functionally active.

We haven’t checked whether our protein is monomeric or dimeric.

The answers to your questions are as follows:

1) Why was DTT added?
- DTT is added because it helps stabilize proteins with free cysteines.

2) Is the protein stable without it?
- We haven't verified this particular protein's stability without DTT.

3) Is this specific storage buffer (10% Glycerol, 20mM Tris HCl, 2mM --DTT, 100mM Sodium chloride, pH 8) crucial or can it be exchanged for another buffer (e.g. HPSS)?
- The proteincan be stored in another buffer, but since do not have verified its stability without DTT, we do not know if and how long it would be stable if DTT is absent. But HPSS would be a usable buffer.
