Relevance
ENTPD6 (Ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase 6) is similar to divalent cation-dependent E-type nucleotidases (NTPases) which mediate catabolism of extracellular nucleotides. ENTPD6 may support glycosylation reactions in the Golgi apparatus and, when released from cells, may be involved in the hydrolysis of extracellular nucleotides. It preferentially hydrolyzes nucleoside 5'-diphosphates. Nucleoside 5'-triphosphates are hydrolyzed only to a minor extent and there is no hydrolysis of nucleoside 5'-monophosphates. -
Cellular localization
Golgi apparatus membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein. Secreted. Note=But also occurs in a soluble extracellular form.
